Sketch VS Colour

Usually I post my sketches here yet on my ipad is a whole folder of the same sketches but after I've coloured them, I do it regardless of whether or not I'm going to upload them...
So I wondered which one is better, sketch or colour? Personally I prefer my sketch rather than the colour though I'm not sure why.
I was not concentrating on the shading too much as I was tired from being at the beach during the afternoon and had anime waiting!
